![]() Two weeks ago I was very lucky to go and see Waitress at the West End, with my brother and my friend, Dani. It was very spontaneous as we only booked it about a week or so before. Here’s a review on the hit musical... Cheap seats with a great view![]() We knew that by booking fairly late we wouldn’t get the closest seats like in the stalls, however surprisingly the cheap tickets we did manage to get had such a great view too! We were sat six rows from the back of the theatre, on the upper circle. All of us weren’t particularly fussed where we sat, however we did want to be able to see as much as we could- like anyone would! The seats were perfect! We could see the majority of what was happening on stage, without having to lean forward etc. It was great for the £22 we paid each! Here's the website if you want to buy cheap theatre tickets too: https://www.todaytix.com/x/london The stunning set![]() Incredible. It was so much more than what I was expecting! From the fun details in the diner, to the basic but effective set of the doctor’s room, the scenery was amazing! Everything was so perfectly done, to make the story come to life. I loved how they switched from scene to scene, with moving furniture and walls. It always amazes me how these musicals and theatre shows find creative ways to change scenes. Perfect performance![]() I’ll let you in on a little secret… I wasn’t fully familiar of the storyline beforehand. All I knew was that it was a romantic comedy, with a diner and waitresses and lots baking. I hadn’t watched any adverts or videos previous, and that worked in my favour because everything surprised me. It was so much more than what I had imagined. I didn’t realise how hilarious it was going to be- trust me when I say I was having to compose myself at certain points, because so hilarious! The storyline really embodied the romantic feel also, which was a lovely parallel to the comedic moments. The actors were incredible and really brought the characters to life. The musicWow. The music. I am constantly playing the music now, let me tell you. I am obsessed, because the music is catchy. I love how they just transport me back to the theatre. The music tied everything together, and the voices of the actors gave me goosebumps! If you haven’t yet listened to the soundtrack, please do the next time you click Spotify. You will not be disappointed.
Overall, I would a million percent recommend seeing Waitress if you love a feel-good performance. You will come out of the theatre beaming from ear to ear, with probably an aching mouth from all the laughing. I definitely want to see it again, maybe next year? Who knows, but I have to see it again. See y'all real soon with another blog coming next week! Lidia x
