Yes that's right, I've booked my FIRST nail appointment... and I'm nearly 20! I've always had this habit of biting my nails and when I mean biting, I mean biting them a lot! Since I started school, I've always chewed my nails my mum says. I always bit them when I was nervous and anxious, and you could say it was my way of comforting myself. Well, not anymore. I have finally accepted that this a habit I need to get rid of after too long of doing it!! Yes, this habit is a part of me and I should not have been ashamed for sooo long about it- that's why I have never done a post about it because I felt so embarrassed by it, plus I thought people would judge me. But within the past few weeks, since I've stopped, I've realised that so many people bite their nails and it's a common habit to have when you are stressed! And that's okay! It's normal for this happen, and it was just my way of dealing with tough situations. However, this is a new start for me as I am no longer doing this habit. For most of you, it may not be a big deal.. you may be thinking "why are you going on about it? biting your nails isn't a hard thing to stop doing!". It really is, for me anyway! I tried everything, even painting my nails with that polish which swore that it would stop you from biting (it tasted gross)- not even that helped! So this is a massive deal for me and I felt like it was time for me to address it here. Now that my nails are slightly longer I have decided to book an appointment to get my nails shaped, the cuticles sorted out (mine are pretty bad at the moment), and painted then moisturised. As I mentioned earlier I've never had anything like this done before, because my nails were bascially non-existent- I've never even stepped into a nail salon before!! I would have never even thought I would be able to say I'm going to get my nails done, it feels so surreal! You could say I'm very very excited, and it's in a few weeks so I have plenty of time to grow out my nails even more!!! I was going to post some pictures of my nails before I stopped, but 1. I don't have many because I didn't like having pictures taken where you could see them, and 2. You don't really want to see my very very bitten nails, I couldnt even look at them let alone you!! I will post an update on what my nails look like when I've had my appointment, so keep your eyes peeled! Lidia xx Want to follow me on social media?

Happy Monday Everyone!! I don't know about you but I think this past week has been a weird one in regards to the weather. For those who don’t know (come on you must have known) the uk got battered with ‘the beast from the east’ as the media and the met office called it- wintery weather swept across from east bringing lots of snow and very cold weather our way, -11 in some places! We didn't get as much as predicted, and no where near anything that places like Scotland and northern England got! But, it was enough to create disruption in my area. Anyway, I took a fair few pictures of the snow over last week and I wanted to share some with you- I still can’t believe it lasted for several days, as normally it melts within a day or so! I took this on Friday when I was at univeristy, and yes that is a graveyard smack bang in the middle of campus- thought it looked cute in snow. I hope everyone is well, and didn't have too much disruption thrown their way during this past week! Let me know if you had any snow, and if you still have some- ours melted on Sunday, hashtag sad times. Lidia xx Social Media: |
