This is such an exciting post ahhh! If you read my post a few weeks ago you’ll have read that I had booked a nail appointment for the first time ever! Anyway, yesterday I went for my appointment and my nails are completely different- in a great way! I went to the John Lewis nail bar and had a manicure which included a full nail treatment (shaping, cuticle care and nail polishing) as well as an exfoliating massage, and I can just say it was probably one of the best things ever. Seeing as I’ve never done it before (I have bitten my nails ever since I was little) my mum wanted to get me the full treatment in order to make my nails look absolutely amazing. It was so worth it as my nails don’t look like they belong to me haha!! Massive thanks to the lovely woman who transformed my bitten nails into beautiful ones!! I decided to use gel polish instead of normal, as the lovely woman said it would help my nails to grow and it won’t damage them (unless I pick at them which I definitely won’t, they are too pretty to do that!). As I’m heading to Disneyland Paris in a few days I thought why not get a blue colour so then they will match the 25th anniversary decorations! I got a dark blue colour and honestly I’m in love it!! The appointment didn’t go as smooth as I thought it would be as, when she started to cut my gross cuticles two of my nails started to bleed- it would probably due to the fact that they had never been cut before and I do have sensitive skin. The problem was when I had my hand under the lamp they started to bleed even more which was a complete nightmare- I felt so sorry for the woman!! Luckily by the third and final coat the cuts stopped bleeding, however they still are a bit sore and red, but that’s expected. The appointment lasted one hour and it was lovely and relaxing. I’m so happy I’ve gotten out of the biting habit! Here’s a few pictures of my pretty nails!! I unfortunately couldnt find any pictures of what they looked like before I stopped- probably because I didn’t like having my nails on show when pictures were being taken!!! This is a big milestone for me so I’m so happy I’ve got to share it on my blog as I want it to be full with milestones and amazing things I’ve achieved over the years!! Speaking of milestones I got my fringe back which I have been thinking of doing for a while! the last time I got a fringe was way back in 2009 in year six, so I look completely different!! Here’s a picture of me with my new friend who covers my very high forehead up very very well!!! Thanks for reading! I will be posting a post tomorrow as I’m seeing Sam Smith in concert tonight, so ill make sure to take lots of pictures to share it on here!! Follow me on my socials too if you want to see more!! Lidia x Social Media:Seeing as Christmas is nearly here and I’ve been posting a lot of christmassy blogs within the past few weeks I thought why not break up the festive blogs with a little haul. I have waited to write this as I have bought these products within a period of time, so I'm very excited to show the products I've bought- some I got recently, others I’ve had a while. NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick- 'cherry skies'I never normally venture towards the red lippy, but seeing as it's the festive period I thought why not go out of my comfort zone. This lipstick was darker than I imagined, but I absolutely love it- I want to wear it 24/7! Here’s a picture of me wearing it- it's perfect for Christmas Day, Christmas parties etc. You can keep to a very simple make up look or you can go full out- either way the lipstick looks flawless. Real Technique SpongesThese are a necessity within my makeup collection, whether its when I use it for foundation, concealer or contour I cannot do my makeup without it. Liz Earle Moisturiser and Cleanse and PolishI first started using both products back in year 7 (so a very long time ago), and I am still loving them! Both soothes and help my dry and sensitive skin, and the smell is so beautiful- even the smell brings back memories to year 7 Lidia. The products last such a long time too, which is another bonus. Garnier Face MasksThe face masks I bought were the 'Moisture Bomb: Tissue Masks', the purple one is the 'Lavender Hydrating Face Sheet Mask', and the pink one is the 'Sakura Hydrating Face Sheet Mask'. Now I haven’t tried these face yet but I'm so excited to. I got two of the Sakura dry/sensitive skin face masks, so hopefully it should help my skin a little bit more. The Lavender mask is for tired and dull skin, which is definitely my skin at the moment haha. Palmer's MoisturierI bought this a while ago and it does wonders for my dry and sensitive skin. The coco butter smell is amazing too- I wouldn't go back to using anything else. Soph X palettesI've also had these palettes a while, and I've been using them every time I have worn makeup. I honestly cannot live without them. The pigment in the shadows and highlights are incredible, and they are all so blendable. The shadows and highlights last all day too which is great for long days at university, or when I go out in the evenings. The highlights are my favourite though, they are so glittery and sparkly. The four lightest colours are the ones I use the most, but I do use the darker highlights as glittery eyeshadows too. Here's a picture with the flash on to show you how amazing they are. The eyeshadow colours are amazing too. There's some matte and glittery colours, ranging from black to nudes, red to purple. I use them in my everyday makeup routine and on a night out. The range of colours is incredible so you can use the palette all year round. I'm definitely going to use this palette on Christmas and on New Year's! And it has a large mirror, which is perfect! Here's a picture of the shadows. I hope you've enjoyed reading this, let me know if you own any of the products mentioned and your thought on them also. I will be posting a few more blogs until Christmas so be on the look out! Lidia xx Let's get social:
Over the past few months I’ve seen a lot of bloggers, friends, generally everyone expressing how much love they have for The Ordinary. And to be honest I didn’t see the hype!
However, a few weeks ago I went to Shoreditch with a friend and we stumbled upon Box Park (which if you haven’t been, I highly recommend to have a look round there), and in one of the containers was The Ordinary. Both my friend and I were in desperate need of some new foundation so we thought why not be a little noisy around and check out the brand. I loved how the whole shop was set out, wish I had took pictures- it was very minimalistic, the theme was definitely black and white!! After spending a good amount of time browsing, my friend and I decided we wanted the serum foundation- it is light coverage, and looked to be more nourishing on the skin. And can I say I'm so happy I decided to by one.
The colour matches my skin so much which is a miracle, and the coverage is amazing. The foundation is a bit liquidly but when blended in, it isn’t a huge problem. The foundation is long lasting too and blends so easily; it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything, which is great for the long days at uni. It's got quite a dewy finish which is out of my comfort zone as I tend to be drawn towards matte finishes- however for a natural look it's perfect. If you're more a high coverage kinda gal then I wouldn't recommend the serum foundation- the coverage foundation is meant to be pretty high coverage. I may go back to the shop and purchase the coverage foundation for when I want a higher, matte coverage.
I now understand why everyone has amazing things to say about The Ordinary foundation!! Plus it’s super cheap and cruelty free! |
