I’ve loved the band ever since my mum asked me to listen to them about 6years ago. My mum was already a fan because they come from her home town and they used Yorkshire dialect in their songs which is what she loved!! And I’m so glad she got me to listen to them because ever since, they have been a band I’ve always listened to. I’ve always wanted to see them live, so did my mum, but for some reason we never got round to doing it! I’m so glad I got to see them live last night. It was so enjoyable and I sung my heart out. However, towards the end of the night we had to ask staff if we could change seats because of a group of people behind us. They had spilt beer over us and we didn’t want to sit in front of them because of the way they had spoken to us. We spoke with staff and they were so apologetic. They gave us new seats (which I thought wouldn’t happen seeing as it was a sold out gig) on the opposite side to where we were originally sitting. The atmosphere was so much better. Everyone was so much calmer and just taking it all in, instead of acting crazy, throwing beer, and shouting. We weren’t even in the standing pit which I can understand is what happens down there when you see bands like Arctic Monkeys- we saw people in the pit crowd surfing, throwing tops, beer, pushing but I don’t (in my opinion) expect that at any gig when you are right at the top of the arena in seats. So that was an experience we didn’t see happening and it did make us a bit annoyed because we had missed several songs whilst sorting it out, but it’s all good because we got to enjoy the last few songs in better seats! The o2 staff helped us so much and were so great handling the situation. But I don’t want this post to be a rant because the band were amazing. The set was sooo good! I loved all the songs they sang. I loved how there wasn’t a lot going on with the stage decorations. They kept it very minimal but still dramatic and powerful. I especially loved the “monkeys” light above the stage which we couldn’t see until we changed seats. I loved hearing the songs from their new album as they have a different sound to the previous albums, but of course their older songs (from the AM album especially) were my favourite of the night. Overall it was a great night and I’m sure mum and I will laugh about the situation in the future. I’m just so happy I got to see Arctic Monkeys live. It was completely different to other artists I’ve been to see but it was so worth it! Here’s some pictures I got in the two different seats, haha- they aren't great pictures but they will do. I’ve been planning this blog for ages, so seeing as it’s the 1st December why not show you my playlist for this month!!! Some songs are ones I stumbled upon, on Spotify which aren’t related to Christmas- they make me feel cosy and chilled which is definitely needed seeing as it's winter now! But, yes you guessed it, the majority are Christmas songs!!! The Christmas songs are some of my favourites, which really get me in the festive mood!! Can you tell I'm excited for Christmas?? Disney songs are no doubt my favourite type of music, and I'm always so curious to know what people's favourite songs are. As much as I love these ten songs, all Disney songs are amazing and I would happily list of them as my favourite!!
Whenever I'm on Spotify (which is a lot at the moment) I always end up listening to Disney music, which instantly puts me in a better mood. Whether it's a Disney classic album, Disney Princesses album or a particular movie album I always end up smiling when the song finishes!! Anyway, here's my top ten favourites- it was very hard to choose only ten!! 1. "I see the light"- Tangled2. "Hakuna Matata"- Lion King3. "A Dream is a wish your heart makes"- Cinderella4. "A whole new world"- Aladdin5. "Everybody wants to be a cat"- Aristocats6. " Part of your world"- The little mermaid7. "Beauty and the beast" - Beauty and the beast8. "I just can't wait to be king"- Lion King9. "This is Halloween"- The Nightmare before Christmas10. "You've got a friend in me"- Toy Story
As much as I love every disney film, the Disney Princess soundtracks are my favourite. I have always been a Disney princess at heart, since the beginning. It would be a very long post if I explained why I chose these particular songs- so many lovely memories are linked to the songs.
-What's your top ten favourite disney songs?
I’m going to start something new on my blog- every mouth/season I’ll be uploading a new playlist, which I’ve created on Spotify. Some songs I’ve only started to listen to, others are some of my favourites. All the songs in this playlist give me that autumn feel, even though they are from different genres. I know I will be listening to this playlist whilst doing uni work, just chilling and obviously on my daily commute to uni.
