I've just come back from the cinema, and the first thing I do is write this post! 'Maze Runner: Death Cure' you have surprised me and exceeded my expectations 100%! Anyone who has seen the previous two films, needs to take time out of their day to watch this film. Even if you haven't seen any of the Maze Runner films, and you have no clue the story line definitely check it out! The film doesn't carry straight on from the second one, like how the second one basically did with the first film. From the moment it started to the very last second, I was amazed and on the edge of my seat. The CGI was incredible, especially from about half way through onwards when they enter the city- we only saw it in 2D as well, it would have been even better in 3D! So many emotions were going through my head throughout the 142 minutes- sadness, happiness, shock, laughter. There were even a few jumpy moments which of course made me jump. Of course Dylan O'Brien was again amazing in the film (yes you guessed it I have a 'slight' crush on him.. anyone else?) - I still can't believe he got injured whilst filming! All the actors in fact were incredible, making you feel everything the characters felt! The storyline was definitely not what I expected as there were a few surprises and a huge twist with Thomas!- can you tell this is really hard to not give out spoilers?!! I've seen a lot of reviews comparing a lot to Hunger Games, which yes in some ways it is, but I feel like the first film was more similar to Hunger Games- as the film was centred around the maze and survival. This final film in the Maze Runner series had its own storyline which was definitely unique- yes survival was a key theme, but so was finding the cure, saving loved ones, dealing with betrayal (if you've seen the second film you'll know who I'm on about), and most importantly being a team and staying by one another's side. In a way I don't agree with these reviews, especially when they are intensely criticising large parts of the film. I loved the film and it felt me amazed and pretty speechless on the journey home. I have so many lovely memories watching the previous two films in the cinema, watching them at home with my family, and now it's come to an end. It kills me knowing I will no longer see Thomas, Minho and Newt together *sheds a tear*. Does anyone else hate it when a film series finishes?!! I feel like my movie review posts, don't really say much and I'm sorry but I can't let myself be that person who spoils it for others haha. If you are anyway interested in what happened and want to know more, message me on any of my social medias or comment below on this post and I'll try and answer without giving any spoilers. I’m back with another post, updating you on what I got up to Saturday- I've done a lot this weekend, haven’t I? haha. It was quite a different setting from other places I’ve visited for Afternoon Tea, as we were sat in the crypt of St Paul's! It's not everyday you can say you've been in the crypt of St.Paul's! It was small but very cosy and warm, all the staff were lovely and welcoming. And let me talk about the food…. Yum yum yum. It was amazing, they even made sure I didn’t have any fish sandwiches (like salmon for example) which was great! We had a few sandwiches each, two lovely scones with jam and cream! Then the desserts were so delicious. There was a chocolate bomb where the waiter poured hot caramel sauce making it melt! It was so sweet, but incredible. There was also a little raspberry cheesecake and a little chocolate ball with cream in the middle. As well as all of that amazing food, we had a glass of champagne which wasn’t too sweet or dry- it was lovely as I'm not a big fan of very sweet or really dry champagne, it was just right!. Plus we had refills of tea. I had the Jasmine tea and it was beautiful, it was like drinking flowers!! The atmosphere was lovely too. Our reservation was 12:45 and it was so quiet, with only a tables seated. We stayed for about two hours (having mum and daughter talks haha) so by the time we left it was pretty full, but the atmosphere was still calm and relatively quiet. If you are looking for afternoon tea at a different place, definitely go for this one. Here’s some pictures I took: After we filled our stomaches with the delicious drink and food, we headed out of the tea room and had a little wander around the crypt. There was little gift shop with cute London touristy things, and coffee shop which looked quite popular too! I had a lovely weekend, going the theatre on Friday evening (my previous blog post addesses this if you are interested) and having time with mum at St Paul’s tea room. I would definitely do this weekend all over again!! Make sure you keep up to date with my posts, I’ve got some lovely things planned coming soon!! Lidia xx My Social Media:It feels like I haven't blogged in ages... But I'm back, with a post to tell you where I went on Friday evening. I went to see The Twilight Zone at the theatre... yes it's at the theatre how amazing is that?!! As you all know by now, I'm a massive Disney fan and one of my favourites rides (Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios) is based around The Twilight Zone- so when we saw an advert on the tube about it, we had to make sure we got some tickets. I have never seen the tv show but after seeing it at the theatre I really want to!! My opinion on it? I would definitely rate it 10/10. It was so comical which was a massive surprise as it is meant to be creepy because of the sci-fi genre. Yes it was weird and creepy, and parts did make me jump a few times but there were so many one liners and comical jokes, which definitely lighten the mood and atmosphere. The staging and scenery were amazing, and with the stage being so small you felt more connected towards the characters. We were watching the whole performance through a tv screen which definitely added to the sci-fi, and eerie mood- you can see from the pictures below. The storyline was great too, as there were different characters which all had something in common... they knew of people who had suddenly disappeared or had weird things happen to themselves. Obviously I won't spoil it for you all, but it definitely played on your mind and make you re think things about parallel universes, alien creatures etc. Unfortunately it is only on the stage until 27th January and there aren't many tickets left, but I would recommend watching the tv show if you are interested!! Here's some pictures I managed to take before and after the performance. As you can see, we were very close to the stage enabling us to see everything- especially great as I am very short anyway haha. I know I didn't explain must of what happened throughout the show, as I didn't want to spoil it for any of you- just in case it comes back or if you watch the tv show which I definitely recommend doing! As a massive tower of terror fan who had never watched The Twilight Zone, I would definitely give it a watch!!! Stay tuned for more posts soon. I will make sure I am regularly blogging!! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year, whether you've been celebrating or not. Seeing as we are just in 2018, I thought why not show you how to display any Polaroid pictures you've got lying around, and you want to show them off- think of it as a little DIY post! Don't worry if you don't own any polaroids, you can still do these DIY's with normal photographs. If you know me, you’ll understand when I say I’m a massive fan of my Polaroid camera. Since I bought it way back in 2014 it’s been everywhere with me- trips around London and the UK, it's seen the sites in Amsterdam, Disneyland Paris and it’s even been to Japan and back!! I love taking pictures on my Polaroid. It makes me feel so nostalgic and I feel it makes the pictures feel timeless, and so much more special. Since I began my love for Polaroid’s I’ve displayed them in different ways across my bedroom and they are probably my favourite thing! My bedroom feels so tumblr with the Polaroid’s displayed but it also makes me think about all memories I’ve made. Make a hanging photo mobile.I’ve always had one of these above my bed and honestly it’s the best thing. I made mine with some string (or even ribbon would do), small picture hooks, blue tack, clips and of course you’re lovely Polaroid’s. Just measure the string to the size you want, hang up the hooks and attach with some blue tack to wall, then clip your Polaroid’s to the string! It’s as simple as that! Frame your favourites.I was lucky enough to get a Polaroid frame and a photo clip from my best friends for Christmas and I couldn’t wait to put my pictures inside. The frame is from urban outfitters and it’s rose gold which is my favourite! It’s so sparkly, and adds a bit of glitter to my bookshelf which is actually what it needed. I don't know where the camera photo clip is from but you can get them from anywhere- it looks so pretty on my chest of drawers. Attach them to a pin/clip board. The third way to display the photos is to attach them to a pin or clip board. All you need is the board (I got mine from Sainsbury’s) and some cute clips. I also hung up some postcards, and extra little bit I found lying around my room. I love all these ways as it makes the room feel more personal and gives the plain white walls more colour and life. These cute DIY's also don't make the room look cluttered, which is great if you have a small bedroom like me. Let me know which is your favourite DIY and if you display your pictures like this!
