I recently booked our fastpasses for walt Disney world, and similar to when I booked dining reservations (here’s the link to that post: dining reservations) I thought why not share some tips and tricks I’ve learnt from booming fastpasses because, we got very lucky and have booked lots of amazing attractions! The points I mention are only from my experience and from what others have advised me to do. Firstly I wanted to mention the website I used to understand the fastpass tiering system, as well as the most popular rides in each park. Mouse hacking was really helpful in order to help me get around the whole system so please read that first if you aren’t similar with it all. 1. Make sure you have a plan (even a rough one)I feel like this is really important even if you only have rough guide. Make a plan of the attractions you would like fastpass, that way you have a clear list to work from when booking. I’d group the attractions into each park and then from that work out which are the most popular. 2. If you can, plan the most popular attractions later in your tripI was told by my friends that this may be better than booking popular rides at the start of the trip. This is because at the start of your trip other guests will have booked their fastpasses, meaning there will be an overlap with yours and theirs. However the end of your trip, there will be more availability because guests going around the day you’re trip starts will be able to book fastpasses for the last week of your trip for example. I hadn’t planned to do all of the popular attractions at the end of our trip because we are heading to universal/water parks etc, but when booking I did find I had to book a few towards the end. For example I tried to book avatar flight of passage on the first week, however I found there was none available. Then I decided to book the ride on the second week where there was more availability. I’d make sure to have multiple options for when you can fastpass the popular attractions, then you’ll have a plan B just in case. 3. Remember you can book your whole trip’s worth of fastpassesA lot of people have asked me this and it’s true. On your 60th day (if staying onsite) or 30th day (if staying offsite) you can book fastpasses for your WHOLE trip! So if you are going for two weeks you can do the whole 14/15 days! 4. Be flexible!A little continuation from point 3, because it is important to have some flexibility with your fastpasses. You may not be able to book particular attractions on that particular day so it’s definitely worth having a plan B just in case. Especially for popular attractions (mine train, toy story rides, and avatar rides), make sure to have a multiple days where you can ride these rides. 5. Create a list starting with the most popular attractionsBefore booking I created a list of all the attractions (with the dates and times we wanted), starting at the top with the most popular ones. I found this was really helpful because I started booking with the popular ones as they go quickly, then made my way down the list. Obviously you don’t have to do this much planning but I felt it was very helpful for me to guarantee as many as possible. 6. Use the specific times tab to get more optionsWhen booking on the app or on the website (I booked on the website and it worked great), make sure to use the times tab after you’ve clicked on which date and what park you want a fastpass for. I found that when clicking on the ‘morning’ ‘afternoon’ ‘evening’ tabs, there wasn’t a lot of choice and I couldn’t get the specific times. It was much quicker using the times tabs (you can filter times such as 11:30am) to see availability. 7. It’s easier with an extra pair of handsIf you can, ask someone else to help when booking. I got my brother to read out the attractions on the list with times and dates whilst I was booking. He then wrote down each fastpass I had secured to make it easier, than having to go back and look on my plans on the website. Extra tips for when you are on your trip:I haven’t tried these tips yet but all my friends who have been to wdw recently have advised me so I’m gonna share them with you...
