If you have read my previous blog post, you will know that on Christmas Day and Boxing Day my family and I always play different party games. As tomorrow (yes tomorrow!!) is Christmas Day, I thought it would be the ideal time to list some of my favourite party games which we love to play throughout this festive period.... enjoy!!
1. Monopoly. Okay if you do not play Monopoly on Christmas then you are seriously missing out! We always end up playing this game, whether it's the original or a special edition. It gets the whole family so so competitive, as someone always tries to cheat a little bit haha, but we always end up laughing until we can barely breathe. I'm sure this year will be exactly the same. 2. Cluedo. This has to be one of my favourite board games ever, in my opinion. It gets so tense and again super competitive. It's so interesting to see everyone keep all their clues secretive, well try to anyway haha. 3. Scrabble. Scrabble is slightly different to the other games, as we get less competitive about what words we can create. We end up messing about and try to create funny words to make it less serious- it works though, I end up in fits of laughter! 4. Articulate! This game is so hilarious to play, and if you haven't played this then you are again missing out big time. I'm so bad at it, but it's such a fun interactive game to get everyone feeling intense and competitive. 5. Dixit. We only first played this last Christmas but it is such a fun game to play. It's a very imaginative game and involves one player being a storyteller, which was quite weird at first. You have to think creatively in order to best match one of your picture cards with the storytellers sentence of one of his/her picture cards. It is really interesting to see each others interpretation of the different picture cards, which is so so funny. I don't think it's a well known game but it is a definite must have to play with the family. 6. Golden Balls. Okay this game is quite old but honestly it's such a funny game. My cousins got it one year when the show Golden Balls was on tv, and whenever I play it now it reminds me of when we were younger! I don't know why it's such a funny game to play, maybe because my cousins used to joke about when playing it haha. 7. Guess Who. This game will never never get old. It is one of my favourite games to play, whether playing it with the actual board game or just writing animals, people, objects on a post-it note and sticking it on your head. It gets so tense and i'm not the best at it, but it is such a hilarious game to play whether there's only a few of you, or your whole family. 8. Disney Trivial Pursuit. Okay I'm quite good at this game. I love this game as if you didn't know I'm quite a big fan of anything and everything Disney. It's such a fun game and makes you question how much you actually know of Disney films/characters/songs. My family and I are definitely Disney freaks so whenever we play this, it gets very very competitive as we all want to be the best at this game haha. 9. Game of Life. The first time I played this game was actually on my phone a few years ago and I found it so so enjoyable. When I realised they had made it into a board game I knew we had to buy it. It's again such a family fun game. The board game is also very cool, as it has quite a big plastic spinner and is really colourful to keep everyone interested. 10. All Star Family Fortunes. Again this board game is one which my cousins bought a while ago, and reminds so much of when we were younger and used to play it. My cousins again used to mess around whilst playing, which used to make it so much funnier to play. Everyone competitive when playing it and we all want to beat each other. I'm such a lover of board games, so I thought I would give you a little insight into what we play over the Christmas season. Let me know if you have played any of these games and which ones you prefer!! Merry Christmas!!
