On the 10th of July I travelled up to Sheffield to visit my family and to celebrate my cousin's graduation. Except this time I didn't travel with my brother and mum in the car, I travelled on the train on my own for the first time. I had never been on a train journey that long by myself so you could say I was very nervous, but i was super excited as I finally felt like my summer holidays were starting! The time past very quickly as I kept myself busy- I tried to finish the current book I'm still reading "Fangirl" (I really need to finish this book soon as I've been reading on and off for nearly a year now!!!), I had my de-stress colouring book, I started to plan this blog and I listened to my music. I definitely had a lot to do to keep my mind occupied, so it didn't feel like I was on my own. "what if someone is sat in my seat?" "What if I sit in the wrong seat?" "Will there be enough room for my suitcase?" "What if I get bored whilst on the train?" were all questions flowing around in my head as I travelled to the train station- yes as you can see I worry about the silliest things. having said that the train journey, there and back, was very pleasant and enjoyable and it wasn't very busy which is also a good thing! Whilst up in Sheffield I got the chance to see my cousin graduate and be invited to his graduation party at the university student union which was very very enjoyable! It was lovely to see all the graduates celebrating and having fun, as well as I got a taste of what uni life and graduation would be like if I get into uni in September (fingers crossed). My auntie took me to my first spa day which was lovely and so so relaxing. I got to have a body scrub treatment which definitely helped my sensitive, eczema prone skin; as well as experiencing different rooms such as the ice room and the saunas. The spa day definitely helped me to relieve stress from the past few months as well as just relaxing and, having some girlie time with my auntie. I also went on an elephant statue hunt with my cousin and auntie around Sheffield, as there all different statues placed in areas around the town. It was great to see parts of Sheffield where I haven't been in a while as well as seeing the different elephant artwork. My favourite has to be the Hendersons relish elephant(the orange and black one) featured outside Sheffield university, as I love Hendersons and it just relates to Sheffield so so much. I had a lovely afternoon with my three cousins and two of my aunties when we went to a cocktail bar for some drinks, little catch up, and to celebrate my cousin's graduation, my birthday as well as my other cousin's birthday. It was nice to enjoy the cocktails with lovely company, and to chat about things that have been happening in the previous months as well as things that are happening in the upcoming months too- I don't see my family regular so when I do we always have a catch up. The cocktails were so so delicious too, yum yum! On top of all that I spent quality family time with my grandparents and my other cousin and aunties and uncles which is always lovely! I do love spending with my family even though we don't get to see each other on a regular basis. So yes you could say that the past ten days have been hectic, but I've loved it. The train journey on my own was very nerve-racking but it was very enjoyable and I would definitely do it again.
