![]() Last week I went to see Frozen II at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. The film was absolutely incredible, along with the cinema. Here's a spoiler free review of the film!! In six years a lot of things can change; we mature, we develop as people. It's been a long six years since Frozen was released, and let tell you it was well worth the wait. The highly anticipated film, definitely exceeded my expectations of the sequel and left me with so many emotions afterwards- particularly me listening to the soundtrack all the time. There were times where I laughed and smiled so much, and times where I had to wipe my tears, but that's the magic of Disney. Life is full of changesThe main theme in this sequel was change, which fits so well with the audience, considering the children who watched the first film are a lot more grown up now. The characters have evolved, along with the audiences which I definitely feel was a good move. The film embodies a lot of change which shows younger audiences that it is okay for things to change and evolve. All the characters face some sort of challenge when it comes to the change in the close-knit family, and I think the film does well to explain that not all change is positive, but all change is important. And ultimately the characters learn a lot about them themselves because of the changes. There is a lot of growth and maturity with the characters and the dynamics of their relationships, which further spreads important lessons to younger audiences. The soundtrackThe soundtrack does very well in projecting change and the journeys the characters go on throughout the film. For example, the song "Some Things Never Change" is very poignant, in the sense that it portrays that even though life is always changing - bad and good- there are some things we can always rely on. Even though change can be scary, it's always important to look at the things around us that mean a lot; for example our loved loves. The same with "Lost In The Woods", in the way that Kristoff is struggling to come to terms with relationships changing. He seems lost and sings a power ballad about love, which I feel is very important. It teaches younger children that it is normal to be emotional and expressive, especially for young boys. Again, the songs really have a sense of maturity and also touch on mental health too which I feel is very important. Overall, this soundtrack is my favourite out of the two films and I enjoy listening to them over and over again! Disney have definitely pushed the boundary with this film. I think sequels can either be incredible or can be a massive miss. However, this film definitely did not disappoint. I loved how all four characters (Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf) had solo songs! It definitely gave more depth and maturity to the characters, and showed ultimately how much the characters have changed since the first film six years ago. I have to say I love the Frozen universe more now, purely because of this film and the soundtrack. The first film was amazing, but it wasn't a film I would consider to be one of my favourites. I can say though Frozen II is one of my favourite Disney films ever.. from the stunning animation and music, to the important themes. It really does push the boundary on what Disney will create next. If you are a Frozen fan, this film is one you have to watch! You will not be disappointed. See ya'll real soon with another blog post next week! Lidia x Social media:
