Seeing as it is a week today until Christmas day, I thought it would be a good idea to upload another Christmas blog post- plus I'm getting very very excited!!!! This week has really made me realise how close Christmas is and I have been thinking about past Christmas memories that I've had with my friends and family, so I thought I'd like to share some of my favourite ones.
Every Christmas my mum, brother and I would decorate the Christmas tree and we would always look forward to this because, for my brother and I it would be the start of the Christmas countdown. When we were younger, the only thing we wanted to do was to put the Disney decorations on the tree, making mum do everything else! I remember on several occasions mum would replace the baubles that we had put on the tree, because they weren't in the right place according to mum, haha! I used to get so upset because all my baubles had been moved to somewhere else on the tree! We would listen to Christmas songs and sing and dance, which would get us so hyper for the big day! Now looking back I find it so funny because when I decorate the tree with mum (and I don't just put the Disney baubles on the tree anymore) I actually say to mum 'where does this one need to go?' or 'Mum is this section okay?' or 'Mum I think this section needs more baubles'; Mum still does replace some of my decorations though, haha! Another Christmas memory is when we would visit our family on Boxing day. It was so lovely to spend time with my family, play different board games (mostly monopoly, and then spending hours and hours trying to win) as well as enjoying Nan's delicious roast dinner!!! This is probably one of the best memories because I don't get to see my family a lot (unfortunately I only see them during the holidays), so it is always amazing to spend lots of time with the people that mean so much to me! Last year I invited my friend round, Elizabeth, for a Christmas sleepover where we decorated the christmas tree, listened to Christmas songs and wore Santa hats for most of the sleepover. It was lovely to have a Christmas themed sleepover and it definitely got me into the christmas spirit; I started listening to lots of Christmas music as well as watching the traditional Christmas movies that we all love! I'm so looking forward to spend this Christmas with my family, so if you are reading this.... see you very very soon!!!!!! It is going to be lovely to just spend time with them, and forget about everything at the moment that is making my life very hectic, for example sixth form- what a surprise, haha. I can't wait to indulge myself in lots of Christmas food, and then feeling absolutely stuffed afterwards, haha! Also, it is a lovely to think that this year is coming to a close, yes this year has been everything I had hoped and more, but I'm so looking forward to starting afresh and creating new challenges for myself! Merry Christmas! Hope you enjoy reading my favourite memories of Christmas, and I wish you all a lovely, relaxing holiday- try not to eat too much ;)
